Judd Trump looks set to face either Shaun Murphy or Yan Bingtao in the last eight.

Former champion Judd Trump needs just two more frames to reach the quarter-finals of the Betfred World Snooker Championship after taking a commanding 11-5 lead over David Gilbert.

Trump fought back from 3-1 down to lead 5-3 after the morning session and although Gilbert won the first frame when play resumed on Sunday evening, Trump took six of the next seven.

The world number one pinched a lengthy 10th frame on the black but also made breaks of 57, 111, 69 and 67 as an increasingly demoralised Gilbert scored just one point in the last three frames.

Trump looks set to face either Shaun Murphy or Yan Bingtao in the last eight and Murphy appears his most likely opponent after opening up a 10-6 lead.

Murphy led 6-2 after the opening session and moved further ahead with the aid of breaks of 88 and 68, raising the possibility of winning the match with a session to spare.

However, Yan stopped the rot with a century in the 11th frame and further breaks of 50, 64, 70 and 58 kept the Masters champion's hopes alive heading into Monday evening's final session.

That session will also see the conclusion of the match between Mark Selby and Mark Allen, with three-time champion Selby holding a 9-6 lead.

Breaks of 67, 72, 78 and 75 helped Allen halve his overnight deficit, but Selby – who made a break of 135 in the 10th frame – took the final frame of a session which was cut short due to the slow nature of play.

Stuart Bingham is on course to set up a quarter-final with Anthony McGill – who knocked out defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan – after moving into a 10-6 lead over Jamie Jones in their last-16 tie.

The pair were locked together at 4-4 after the first session, but 2015 champion Bingham pulled away with breaks of 119, 61, 81 and 59 as Jones struggled to find any fluency.
