World number three Neil Robertson has taken a 5-3 lead over David Gilbert after the first session of their World Championship second-round encounter.

Gilbert established a surprise 3-1 advantage over his opponent at the Crucible thanks to some clever safety play.

However, the 2010 winner turned on the style as he fought back get himself ahead.

The pair will next take to the baize on Friday morning.
