O'Sullivan seals place in World Championship semi-finals

Ronnie O'Sullivan is the first player to book his place in the World Snooker Championship semi-finals with victory over Stephen Maguire.

The 46-year-old is attempting to become a seven-time champion at the Crucible, a feat which would match Stephen Hendry's total, and the second seed appears to be well on his way to more success.

Having ended Tuesday's play with an 11-5 advantage, O'Sullivan returned on Wednesday to reel off the final two frames which were required to reach a 13th semi-final.

O'Sullivan compiled breaks of 71 and 126 respectively, taking just 20 minutes, to set up a showdown with either John Higgins or Jack Lisowski.

Higgins currently holds a 5-3 advantage in that contest, which will resume on Wednesday afternoon and conclude before the end of the day.
