O'Sullivan breaks century record

Ronnie O'Sullivan has admitted that he was relieved to break Stephen Hendry's all-time century record during the early stages of his Masters contest with Marco Fu.

The defending champion equalled the feat during his first-round win over Ricky Walden before a break of 101 in the first frame of his 6-1 triumph over Fu saw him reach 776 centuries during his illustrious career.

The 39-year-old told BBC Sport: "I was a bit nervous because I knew everyone was thinking about it. It was nice to get it out of the way early.

"There was still a match to play so I thought that everyone needed to calm down."

O'Sullivan will now play either Ali Carter or Neil Robertson for a place in Sunday's final.
