Ali Carter confirms Shanghai Masters return

Ali Carter has announced that he will be competing in September's Shanghai Masters after getting the all-clear from cancer.

The 33-year-old, who has reached the final of the World Championship twice, underwent an operation earlier this month after being diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Carter wrote on Twitter this evening: "Just had the best news ever! I've got the all clear! Will be back in action in the Shanghai Masters. Thank you everyone for all your support!"

Carter is currently ranked 17th in the world.
