Russian Federation's Yana Kostenko has won a scrappy bout with Kalina Stefanova of Bulgaria to clinch gold in the women's -60kg sambo event at the European Games.

The 27-year-old made a bright start to the contest before her opponent received three warnings in quick succession for illegal moves, allowing Kostenko to see out the win.

There is also a bronze for Daniele Hondui of Romania after she defeated Yaiza Jimenez Lopez.
