Surrey unveil £10m Oval redevelopment plans

Surrey County Cricket Club announce redevelopment plans to expand the capacity of The Oval by 1,300.

Surrey have announced plans to spend £10m expanding the capacity of The Oval to 25,300 at the end of the current County Championship season.

The work will see an additional 1,300 seats put in to the London ground, which will host the final Test in the current Ashes series later this week.

The extra capacity will be added to the Peter May and Lock stands, with the work expected to be completed by the end of May next year.

The Oval hosted its first Test match in 1880.
