Rochdale boss John Coleman spent four hours discussing the club's fortunes this season in a series of one-to-one meetings with frustrated supporters.

The League Two outfit have lost their last four matches in the league, a run of form that has left them in 15th spot in the table.

Attendances have also dropped this season, but Coleman is confident that they will end their slump with three points against Cheltenham Town on Friday.

"More than 20 fans turned up and I was talking from 1.20pm and finished around 5.20pm. It was very positive and I would like to think it was productive for all parties. One fan must like me as he brought me a bottle of red wine and no-one hit me!" Coleman told reporters.

"It was a chance for the fans to air their views and for me to air mine. Me and Jimmy Bell are trying to do our best and we share the fans' frustrations. It was a good opportunity to try and get the fans to realise that we are in this together and it's not them and us and we all want the same thing – promotion.

"I explained that I am working hard to get it right, that I will move a couple of players out in January and get a couple in to make us stronger and that I have got my eye on a couple of targets... We have a massive game on Friday night at home to Cheltenham and, hopefully, under the floodlights, it will bring the best out of us."

Coleman has been in charge at the club for almost a year.
