Caroline Wozniacki enters New York marathon

Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki has announced that she will run the New York marathon later this year.

The event will take place in November on the same weekend that the former world number one had been due to marry golfer Northern Irish Rory McIlroy.

The 24-year-old will run alongside former Olympic silver medallist Meb Keflezighi, who previously won the event in 2009.

Wozniacki aims to raise funds for Team For Kids during the race, an organisation which raises money to encourage children to take up running.
