Ex-Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins denies drink-driving charge

Wilkins denies drink-driving charge

Former Chelsea footballer and coach Ray Wilkins has denied being over the legal alcohol limit while driving near his home in Cobham, Surrey.

The 56-year-old, who now works as a Sky Sports pundit, appeared in North Surrey Magistrates' Court yesterday following his arrest in March.

According to the Daily Star, CCTV footage of Wilkins, who was in between taking breathalyser tests at the time, was shown to the court. In the video, Wilkins claimed: "I don't know what you want me to do.

"Fucking hell I can't even phone my fucking missus, it is a joke. I'm not going to bash anybody. This is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous."

The court was told that Wilkins was three times over the limit.
