Mike Tyson 'forced to pay compensation after failing to turn up to boxing gala'

Tyson 'to pay compensation to boxing gala'

Former American boxer Mike Tyson has reportedly been ordered to pay over £30,250 to the organiser of a boxing gala after failing to turn up to the event last year.

The Polish organiser Tomasz Babilonski sued the former heavyweight champion because the ex-fighter's managers are thought to have refused to pay any original compensation.

A court in Poland is believed to have made the ruling after Tyson decided not to appeal, according to the Huffington Post.

The gala was held in March last year.
