TV channel plans 24-hour Pistorius coverage

A South African satellite broadcaster has announced plans to launch a 24-hour channel to cover Oscar Pistorius's murder trial.

The sprinter, who has won six gold medals in three Paralympic Games, is accused of murdering girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day last year.

MultiChoice says that the channel will launch on March 2, one day before the trial gets underway, and will be the first of its kind from the broadcaster.

The 27-year-old denies intentionally killing the model, claiming that he mistkook her for an intruder.
