'The Simpsons' focuses on match-fixing at World Cup in special episode

A special episode of The Simpsons is created to highlight match-fixing in major tournaments.

A special episode of The Simpsons will focus on match-fixing at major football tournaments.

In the episode, the cartoon family - Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie - travel to Brazil after Homer is chosen to referee at the World Cup.

During their stay in South America, gangsters try to persuade Homer into fixing games during the tournament, according to the Daily Mail.

Fox, who have broadcasting rights for the 2018 World Cup, have revealed that they are joining up with a number of clubs, including Barcelona, to create Simpsons-themed merchandise.
