Tennant 'favourite to play Ferguson in film'

Former Doctor Who star David Tennant is reportedly the bookies' favourite to play ex-Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson in a film about his life.

Recent reports have emerged claiming that former USA footballer Werner Roth is keen to create a movie focusing on the Scotsman's 27-year career as manager at Old Trafford.

According to the Daily Star, Tennant is the 6/1 favourite to play Ferguson in the younger years of his life, while Paddy Power have Michael Sheen at 7/1 following his performance as Brian Clough in The Damned United.

Ferguson retired from management last year.
