A Twitter user, who professed to be a football agent working within England, has revealed their true identity as an 18-year-old fake.
The individual known as @FootballAgent49 on the social network site was regarded by some as 'in the know' with regards to football transfers within the last two months.
The teenager revealed that well-known British publications sourced a number of his stories, with one claiming that Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao had been in discussions with Chelsea over a possible move.
The fake agent came clean on Twitter by saying: "I have been fooling all of you gullible idiots with my fake stories for the past two months.
"I started out when I was bored one evening and I never once thought that I could get 43,000 followers. I feel my twitter experience has been very successful with some of my 'Stories' even trending fifth in the world.
"I'm proud to say that I haven't had even one transfer scoop in my time yet people still say im more reliable than Sky Sports News and the BBC. Laughable."
The teen has now revealed that he will close down his account.
