Sports commentator Tony Gubba passes away at the age of 69 following a reported illness.

Sports commentator Tony Gubba has passed away at the age of 69.

Gubba oversaw a number of live international and FA Cup football matches during his career, as well as appearing on highlights and analysis show Match Of The Day and acting as a stand-in presenter on Grandstand.

The trained journalist also commentated on all eight series of ice skating reality TV show Dancing On Ice on ITV.

While the exact cause of death has not been announced, Sky News has claimed that Gubba's passing came after a short illness.
