Sol Campbell out of race to be Mayor of London

Ex-footballer Sol Campbell has dropped out of the running to be the next Mayor of London.

The former Arsenal and England defender was hoping to be the Conservative representative for next year's contest to replace Boris Johnson.

However, he was not included in the party's four-man shortlist.

Campbell won eight major honours during his professional career before officially retiring in 2012.
