The theatre tour of Sky Sports show Soccer Saturday is cancelled with no explanation.

Sky Sports have cancelled their theatre tour of popular show Soccer Saturday but have not given a reason as to why the event has been scrapped.

The programme, which is shown on Sky Sports News every Saturday with host Jeff Stelling and ex-professional footballers as pundits, was due to hit the road in Liverpool, Newcastle, London and Birmingham.

Tickets had already gone up for sale and were in high demand following the performances in Bournemouth and Southampton.

Despite the increase in sales, the tour has been cut with no explanation from Sky or the roadshow promoter Mike Osman, according to the Daily Mail.

Former professionals Paul Merson, Charlie Nicholas, Phil Thompson and Matt Le Tissier are regulars on the show.
