Sky Sports' Jim White, Natalie Sawyer want national holiday for deadline day

Sky Sports presenters Jim White and Natalie Sawyer team up with Sky Bet to call for transfer deadline day to become a national holiday in the UK.

Sky Sports presenters Jim White and Natalie Sawyer have called on fans to back their notion for transfer deadline day to become an official UK national holiday.

The duo, who are Sky Bet Transfer Fund ambassadors, have put their names to a petition calling for fans to enjoy one of the most highly-anticipated days in the football calendar.

"The UK currently receives the second lowest number of public holidays in the world," said White. "We only get eight days a year. In India they get 18! Help us to rectify this injustice, help us and Sky Bet to make transfer deadline day a UK national holiday – are you in?"

The pair also front Sky Bet's initiative of awarding one Football League fan £250,000 for their chosen club.
