Former England international Alan Shearer has visited a school in Newcastle to encourage children to use ChildLine if they need help.
The ex-Newcastle United striker arrived at Canning Street Primary School to address 120 pupils about the importance of feeling safe.
"I am delighted to have had the opportunity to see the ChildLine Schools Service in action first hand," Shearer told The Chronicle.
"As a parent, you do everything in your power to protect your children, but it helps enormously to have a trusted organisation such as ChildLine go into schools to emphasise the importance of keeping safe."
The father-of-three also signed autographs for students on his visit.
