Tennis star Maria Sharapova creates own brand of sweets

Sharapova launches sweets range

Former tennis world number one Maria Sharapova has created her own brand of sweets, known as Sugarpova.

The 25-year-old, who is preparing to compete in the first Grand Slam of the year at the Australian Open this month, is reportedly poised to bring the sweets to the UK, Canada, Japan, China, Russia and India.

The decision to sell the sweets overseas came after a quarter of a million bags were sold in the United States within three months, according to the Daily Mail.

The brand comes in 12 various themes and flavours, one of which consists of tennis ball-shaped sweets called Sporty.
