Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore to undergo heart operation

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore will reportedly undergo a heart operation next week.

The 54-year-old will have surgery in the coming days in order to correct genetically defective valves.

According to The AP, Scudamore will return to work in July after recovering from the operation.

Scudamore has come under criticism after emails containing alleged sexist comments were leaked to the media last month.

The league chief apologised for the "inappropriate" remarks, but claimed that the emails were of a private nature.

It has been confirmed that Scudamore will not face any disciplinary action for his comments.
