Michael Schumacher's ski helmet returned to family

Michael Schumacher's ski helmet is returned to his family as authorities close the investigation into the accident which has left the former Formula 1 champion in a coma.

French authorities investigating Michael Schumacher's skiing accident have returned his ski helmet to his family.

The former Formula 1 world champion has been in a coma since hitting his head while skiing in the Alps in December.

The prosecutor investigating the accident returned to item to the German's wife Corinna after ruling that no third party was to blame for the incident, closing the investigation.

Along with the helmet, which broke into three pieces, a helmet-mounted camera and his skis were also returned.
