Michael Schumacher 'sued for causing motorbike crash before skiing accident'

Schumacher 'sued over motorbike accident'

Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher is reportedly being sued by an unnamed Spanish man for allegedly causing a motorbike accident just weeks before the sportsman's skiing accident.

The 45-year-old has been in a medically-induced coma in a Grenoble hospital since he hit his head on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps on December 29.

According to the Daily Mail, a Spanish individual has filed a formal complaint, accusing Schumacher of knocking him off his motorbike after failing to give way at a roundabout in Bormujos, Seville on November 17 last year.

It has been claimed that a trial, which will only go ahead should the insurers contest the claim, would not require Schumacher to attend.

The seven-time F1 champion and the company that hired the driver an Audi A4 have been named in the complaint.
