F1 ace Michael Schumacher inspires charity song to raise money for disabled

Former Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher reportedly inspires a new charity song called 'Born to Fight', which will try to raise money for the disabled.

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher is reportedly the inspiration behind a new charity song aimed at raising money for disabled people.

It has been almost a year since the 45-year-old suffered serious head injuries after hitting a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps.

The retired sportsman spent around nine months in a medically-induced coma, but has since returned to his home in Switzerland to continue rehabilitation.

According to the Daily Star, an anthem called 'Born to Fight' has been composed by Sascha Herchenbach and will be released for Schumacher's 46th birthday on January 3.

The stricken star's wife Corinna is quoted as saying: "This feels good. I would like to send me heartfelt thanks for this news of such a nice present that helps our family at such a difficult time."

An event to launch the song will reportedly be held in a pub at Schumacher's hometown of Kerpen and will involve the release of 46 balloons to mark his birthday.
