Sainsbury's agrees new UK Athletics sponsorship

UK Athletics has agreed a four-year sponsorship deal with supermarket chain Sainsbury's.

The agreement will see Sainsbury's become the title sponsor for all televised athletics events held in Britain until the end of the 2017 season.

The deal will start later this month when Britain will face the United States, Scotland and a Commonwealth Select team in an indoor contest in Glasgow, which will now be named the Sainsbury's International Match.

The food giants already provide funding for Britain's paralympic athletes after agreeing to become their long-term sponsor last year.
