Olympic champion Greg Rutherford delights pupils at his old school

Rutherford visits his old school

Olympic gold medallist Greg Rutherford has made a brief return to his old school to show off his medal and talk to the pupils about his achievements.

The long-jump champion was treated to a song written especially for him by Benny Hawes from the children called 'Go for Gold'.

The 25-year-old was then presented with a Head Teachers and Sports Achievers' Award by principal Mrs Sarah Bennett.

Rutherford responded last year by saying: "At last I have my Head Teacher's Award. I've been trying all these years to achieve this!"

Rutherford won gold in the men's long jump final in a dramatic 45 minutes at London 2012, where fellow Brits Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah were also victorious in the Olympic Stadium.
