Joanna Rowsell escapes serious injury after car collision

Olympic gold medalist Joanna Rowsell had revealed that she was hit by a car while out cycling this afternoon.

It is a similar incident to the one that befell Tour de France champion Bradley Wiggins in November.

The 24-year-old posted the news on Twitter, revealing that she avoided any serious injury.

"I am OK," she tweeted. "No serious injuries, just cuts and bruises. Bike came off worst."

Rowsell won gold in the team pursuit at the London Olympics along with her teammates Laura Trott and Dani King.
