Ron Atkinson enters Big Brother house

Former football manager and disgraced TV pundit Ron Atkinson has entered the Big Brother house on launch night of the 12th edition of Celebrity Big Brother.

The 74-year-old will share the Channel 5 living space with Charlotte Crosby, Abz, Bruce Jones, Dustin Diamond, Vicky Entwistle, Mario Falcone, Carol McGiffin, Danielle Meagher and Courtney Stodden.

In addition to the regular housemates, Louie Spence, Lauren Harries and Sophie Anderton have moved into a nearby secret 'Temple', where they will complete undercover tasks.

Bookmakers William Hill have installed Atkinson as the joint-fifth favourite to win the show at 8/1.

Meanwhile, Crosby, who is best known for her sexually-charged love-hate relationship with Gary Beadle on MTV reality show Geordie Shore, is the early market leader at 3/1.

Atkinson had spells in charge of Manchester United and Aston Villa during a 28-year coaching career.

He hit the headlines for the wrong reasons in 2004 when he was sacked by ITV after a microphone recorded him making a racist comment about Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly.
