Pistorius finishes giving evidence

Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius has finished giving evidence in his murder trial at the High Court in Pretoria.

The double amputee spent seven days at the witness stand detailing his version of events with regards to his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp's death.

Pistorius is accused of murdering the South African model, whom he shot dead through a bathroom door at his home in Pretoria on Valentine's Day last year.

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel ended his gruelling cross-examination of the athlete by claiming that his version of events with regards to Steenkamp's shooting are "improbable".

Pistorius denies murder by maintaining that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder when he fired the shots.
