Michael Phelps tops 'Men's Health' list of '100 fittest men of all time'

Phelps named 'fittest man of all time'

Olympic champion swimmer Michael Phelps has been named the 'fittest man of all time' courtesy of a poll by Men's Health readers.

The poll, which was carried out on their official website, came out with Phelps on top ahead of 99 other sportsmen.

Phelps retired from swimming following the London 2012 Games in the summer, when he was crowned the greatest ever Olympian with a cabinet of 22 Olympic medals.

Following his exit from the sport, the US swimmer took to the golf course at the Dunhill Links in Scotland earlier this month where he made a 50-yard putt.
