Paralympic runner Richard Whitehead to compete in diving show 'Splash!'

Paralympic runner Richard Whitehead will compete in this Saturday's installment of ITV diving show Splash!.

Paralympic runner Richard Whitehead will compete along with a number of celebrities in the latest installment of ITV's diving show Splash!.

The 37-year-old double amputee, who will dive without his prosthetic legs, is hopeful that he can encourage disabled people to also take on the challenge.

"I'm a double leg amputee, which affects my mobility but I use prosthetics," the Daily Star quotes Whitehead as saying. "I won't be using them when I dive though.

"I wanted a fresh challenge and I also wanted to encourage people with disabilities to try diving themselves."

Whitehead will take part in the show, which has Olympic diver Tom Daley as a mentor, on Saturday evening.
