Olympics spark interest in sport

A survey has revealed that British people are more interested in watching sport following the success of London 2012.

The Olympic Games, at which Great Britain finished third in the medal table, has encouraged people to watch more sport since the summer, according to the survey conducted by BBC Worldwide.

Figures have shown that 41% of people are more keen to watch sport following the Games, while 53% claimed that they are more knowledgeable.

The survey was carried out to mark the release of the BBC's DVD of its London 2012 coverage.
