Olympics, Euro 2012 dominate list of most-tweeted events of the year

The London Olympics and Euro 2012 have dominated Twitter's most-tweeted list for this year.

The social network site have compiled a selection of the most talked-about events throughout the year on their official UK blog, and London Mayor Boris Johnson's dance in the audience during the Olympics closing ceremony has topped the list.

Usain Bolt's victory in the men's 100m final makes the fourth most tweeted, while England's loss to Italy on penalties in the quarter-finals of the Euros came in second place.

Theo Walcott's equaliser against Sweden in England's Euro 2012 campaign also sparked conversation on the social network site, while Cristiano Ronaldo's goal for Real Madrid against Manchester City to put the scoreline 3-2 in the Champions League made it onto the list.
