Andy Murray has announced that he will donate £50 for every ace that he serves for the rest of the calendar year to contribute towards resolving the ongoing refugee crisis.
The 28-year-old will give the money to UNICEF in an attempt to help aid those travelling to claim asylum in Europe.
Each donation will be matched by Standard Life, one of Murray's partners, and both the Association of Tennis Professionals and the Lawn Tennis Association, resulting in a total sum of £200 for every ace.
Murray told UNICEF: "Having seen the images broadcast on the news in recent weeks I felt that I had to do something to help the millions of children and their families who have been forced to flee their homes and have had their lives turned upside down.
"I will get that little bit more satisfaction from each ace I hit knowing that it will be helping UNICEF keep children safe.
"I am also asking my fans across the world to join with me to and support UNICEF's vital work. Together we can help make a safer world for every child."
On the court, the world number three, who hit 64 aces in four matches at the US Open, will look to recover from a shock fourth-round exit at the competition by competing for Great Britain in the Davis Cup semi-final starting on Friday.
