Wimbledon champion Andy Murray was forced to shield his face after getting accidentally poked in the eye by a fan.

The Scotsman has been in high demand since making history by becoming the first British man in 77 years to win the Wimbledon men's singles title.

While leaving Mayfair restaurant Nobu with his girlfriend Kim Sears, the 26-year-old was met by a hoard of photographers, as well as a fan, who thrust a Wimbledon programme into Murray's face hoping to get an autograph, according to the Daily Star.

Murray was celebrating with friends the night after defeating Novak Djokovic in straight sets.
