Italian model quits to become football referee in Serie A

Italian model Claudia Romani gives up her career to become a football referee in Serie A and Serie B.

Italian model Claudia Romani has revealed that she has left her career behind to move into football refereeing.

Romani has the relevant qualifications to officiate in the top two tiers of Italian football, but no female referees have yet taken charge of a match in Serie A.

"Running around on the pitch with all those players and calling the shots is just an irresistible opportunity," 101greatgoals.com quotes Romani as saying.

The beauty queen has appeared in numerous magazines, including GQ and Maxim.
