Floyd Mayweather Jr buys car for British boxer Ashley Theophane

Pound-for-pound boxing king Floyd Mayweather Jr recently bought a brand new car for British fighter Ashley Theophane after he was impressed by his sparring.

Theophane, who is part of 'The Money Team', will go toe to toe with Steve Upsher Chambers on the undercard of Mayweather's fight against Andre Berto on Saturday.

After training at Mayweather's gym in Las Vegas, Theophane was treated with a Chrysler 300, which is worth around $30,000 (£20,000).

"He bought me car - a Chrysler 300, which I was very happy about," the Daily Mail quotes Theophane as saying. "He was very happy about my performance. He knew I needed a car and he's generous so he bought me a brand new car. It's very nice."

Mayweather also paid for a personalised number plate reading 'TMT ASH'.
