Marcus Bent fined for theme park drug possession

Former Premier League striker Marcus Bent has been fined for possession of cocaine at the Chessington World of Adventures theme park in London.

The former Crystal Palace, Everton and Blackburn Rovers striker committed the offence while subject to a suspended prison sentence.

Bent pleaded guilty to one count of possessing cocaine at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, and was fined £385 and ordered to pay court costs of £85.

Earlier this year, at Guildford Crown Court, the 38-year-old was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment, suspended for two years, for affray and possession of cocaine.
