Diego Maradona branded "psychopath" after allegedly hitting ex-fiancee

The aunt of Rocio Oliva has branded Diego Maradona a "psychopath" after video footage emerged of him allegedly striking his ex-fiancee.

Oliva, 24, is believed to have recorded a video with her mobile phone showing the Argentina football legend, who appeared to be intoxicated, throw a mobile in her direction.

The clip, which was broadcast on Argentine TV, shows Maradona approaching his former partner and then cuts out as Oliva shouts "Stop!" and the ex-footballer allegedly hits her twice.

The 53-year-old has denied raising his hand against her, but the Daily Mail quotes Oliva's aunt as saying that Maradona is a "psychopath and woman beater".

The couple split up earlier this year.
