Three youth players charged with manslaughter after Dutch linesman's death

The Dutch authorities have charged three youth players from side Nieuw Sloten after linesman Richard Nieuwenhuizen was killed during an Under-17s match on Sunday.

The match official was attacked seconds after the final whistle by players aged 15 and 16 and was pronounced dead shortly after.

It has since emerged that three players involved in the incident have been charged with manslaughter, according to Sky Sports News.

Nieuwenhuizen was verbally abused throughout the weekend's match between the visiting side and Buitenboys, for whom the referee's son was playing.
