Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to mock fellow pundit Alan Hansen after learning of golf's latest proposal.
The Royal & Ancient Club and US Golf Association have proposed to outlaw the anchoring of long-handled putters to the body from 2016.
It is understood that players will be banned from 'anchoring any strokes' from their chest or midriff, although the proposition has been met by much criticism.
"Is it true they are banning the long putter? Hansen is doomed! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!" Lineker tweeted.
Lineker and Hansen are both understood to be keen golfers.
