Gary Lineker reportedly agrees a new contract to continue as anchor of BBC show Match of the Day.

Gary Lineker has reportedly agreed a new contract to continue as the host of football highlights and analysis show Match of the Day.

The former England international had been tipped to remain on the BBC programme, which he anchors every Saturday evening to show Premier League coverage.

It is understood that the 52-year-old will have to take a pay-cut from his current £2m-a-year deal, as well as feature on Sunday's Match of the Day 2 on occasion, according to the Daily Mail.

Reports have claimed that US network NBC were keen to snap up Lineker, but have reportedly signed ESPN's Rebecca Lowe instead.
