Khan "very sad" about boxer's passing

Amir Khan has expressed his "deepest condolences" to the family of French boxer Alexis Vastine following his tragic death while filming for a reality TV show.

The 28-year-old, who earned Olympic bronze in the 2008 Beijing Games, was one of 10 people who died in a helicopter crash in Argentina.

It is understood that two helicopters collided while filming TV programme Dropped in La Rioja province.

Following the news, Khan tweeted: "I'm very sad to hear of the passing of Alexis Vastine. I had the pleasure of competing against him in the amateurs and would like to send my deepest condolences to all his family and friends during this difficult time."

French Olympic swimmer Camille Muffat also died in the accident.
