Holyfield apologises after anti-gay remarks

Former world heavyweight boxer Evander Holyfield has apologised for offending anyone with the anti-gay remarks he made while on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK.

The sportsman sparked controversy when he said that being gay "ain't normal" during a conversation with housemate Luisa Zissman.

After being evicted from the Channel 5 show, Holyfield wrote on Twitter: "I am a man of compassion, and I believe that God loves everybody. I am deeply saddened by any offense I may have caused anyone based upon what I said. I am sorry to any person I may have hurt or offended."

Holyfield also admitted in the house that he once punched a pregnant horse because it bucked him off.
