The mother of retired boxer Ricky Hatton reportedly expresses concern over her son's alleged drinking habits.

The mother of retired British boxer Ricky Hatton has expressed 'concern' over her son's apparent drinking habits.

The 35-year-old revealed in October last year that he had been regularly seeing a psychiatrist to help him with depression.

According to the Daily Star, Hatton's mother Carol is said to have received supportive messages on Twitter when photographs of the sportsman emerged online of him on nights out.

Carol is said to have tweeted: "Of course I am concerned but we have no influence over his life any more."

Hatton retired from the sport for a second time following a comeback fight in 2012.
