Rickey Hatton's ex-trainer Bob Shannon charged with alleged sexual assault on girl

Ricky Hatton's former boxing trainer Bob Shannon has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 16.

The 59-year-old, who coached Hatton for his failed comeback fight against Vyacheslav Senchenko in 2012, has trained a number of British and European title-winning fighters.

According to The Mirror, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that Shannon will appear before magistrates in Manchester next week after being charged with the alleged sex attack on an underage girl.

Reports have claimed that the charge is in relation to an incident that was reported last June.
