Ricky Hatton critical of parents' interview with national newspaper

Former world light-welterweight champion Ricky Hatton has criticised his parents for their discussion over their personal lives with a national newspaper.

The Hattons gave an interview to the Sunday Mirror where they offered several startling revelations about their relationship with their son.

However, Hatton took to Twitter to condemn their decision to speak so publicly about the situation.

Hatton tweeted: "Thanks for all my birthday wishes. And thanks to my parents for theres (sic) in the paper. I'm sure people will agree this latest betrayal we go a long way to helping me get over my mental health [problems]. What bad taste."

Hatton was defeated in his comeback fight by Vyacheslav Senchenko in November 2012 and has since retired.
