Steve Harmison praises turn-out for charity golf day

Harmison hails charity turn-out

Durham bowler Steve Harmison has praised his fellow sportsmen for supporting the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation during a charity golf day.

The event, which was held yesterday at Slaley Hall, attracted the likes of Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer and former England cricketer Paul Collingwood.

"You've got to be pleased with the turn-out," The Journal quotes Harmison as saying. "As an event it's exactly what we wanted. It's a fantastic venue to have."

All proceeds from the day have gone to the foundation for the treatment of cancer.
