Gascoigne 'charged with harassing ex-girlfriend'

Former England footballer Paul Gascoigne has reportedly been charged with harassing his ex-girlfriend and a photographer.

The 48-year-old, who has been battling alcoholism for some time, has been accused of sending "abusive" tweets, phone calls and text messages to Amanda Thomas between March 9 and March 22 this year.

Bournemouth Magistrates' Court also heard that Gascoigne had allegedly committed similar harassment against Andrew Stone between March 19 and March 22.

According to the Daily Star, Gascoigne, who has spent several stints in rehab facilities over the years, was not in court for the hearing.

The former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is said to currently be living in Poole, Dorset.
